[Waiting On Wednesday] #11
This week is something special. We BOTH picked the same books, and can not WAITTTTTTT to get our hands on copies of them!!!! Without further A dui... We give you our WOW.
Allegiant - Veronica Roth
Expected Publication: October 22nd 2013
One choice will define you.
What if your whole world was a lie?
What if a single revelation—like a single choice—changed everything?
What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?
The explosive conclusion to Veronica Roth’s #1 New York Times bestselling Divergent trilogy reveals the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.
The Fall of Five - Pittacus Lore
Expected Publication: August 27th, 2013
The Garde are finally reunited, but do they have what it takes to win the war against the Mogadorians?
John Smith—Number Four—thought that things would change once the Garde found each other. They would stop running. They would fight the Mogadorians. And they would win.
But he was wrong. After facing off with the Mogadorian ruler and almost being annihilated, the Garde know they are drastically unprepared and hopelessly outgunned. Now they’re hiding out in Nine’s Chicago penthouse, trying to figure out their next move.
The six of them are powerful, but they’re not strong enough yet to take on an entire army—even with the return of an old ally. To defeat their enemy, the Garde must master their Legacies and learn to work together as a team. More importantly, they’ll have to discover the truth about the Elders and their plan for the Loric survivors.
And when the Garde receive a sign from Number Five—a crop circle in the shape of a Loric symbol—they know they are so close to being reunited. But could it be a trap? Time is running out, and the only thing they know for certain is that they have to get to Five before it’s too late.
The Garde may have lost battles, but they will not lose this war.
Lorien will rise again.

[Review] Three of Hearts
Three of Hearts - W. Ferraro
The main characters are very well written and simple yet complex. Mae, is just looking for a place to call home when she meets Seth. She ends up renting his apartment, which happens to be attached to the house. Needless to say, They start noticing a rather abundant attraction to each other. W. Ferraro did an amazing job with the imagery and the characters. I loved the fact that Mae was a bigger girl. CHEERS to that. How about that as a breath of fresh air. I also loved how the main male character Seth, was a GINGER. I LOVE me a ginger man. Truth be told, I may just have a thing for a man with some red hair… and a little bit of a scruff.
I loved Seth throughout this book, except for at one point. I was like You stupid son of a bitch! How dare you!! Man I was so upset. At first I was like, oh hello man of my dreams. Then I was like Oh damn… but after that, I was all Heyyy again. When the (lets call it an incident) happened, I had to know what was gonna happen next. Was he? Was she!? WHAT!? Yeah. One of those moments where if you don’t finish the book and find out what happened, you’ll be questioning EVERYTHING until you finish it. In effect, driving yourself nuts.
W. Ferarro definitely had a great first book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I would recommend this when you need something emotional, but not over the top. The romance part was pretty steamy and at times, I really wish I was Mae. I can’t wait to read the next novel in the Hamden series. I have Three of Spades ready and waiting for me. (Which, I will gladly delve into tonight!) Congratulations on your first book Ms. Ferarro, you’ve got a winner with this one!

[Review] The Archived
The Archived - Victoria Schwab
The Archived is a concept that is just so amazingly original. I mean what’s not to love? Victoria brings together four of my favorite words… Library. Dead. Books. Records. And now I’m in love.
I will say.. I may be a bit biased due to the fact that I had the AMAZING opportunity in my life to become a ‘Keeper’ to help promote the book before it was published. Victoria actually gave us a list of things that we could do, to help promote The Archived, and she had some crazy amazing ideas. My best friend / blog mate and I decided to do a “Providence Takeover” where we pretty much did every item on the list! We did some sidewalk chalk art of Keys up at Prospect Park, (of which we were so scared to get caught… even though it was only chalk) and we stickered some signs, went to a library to hand out some bookmarks. We had SO much fun. Probably one of the best blog related days of my life!! Anyways, back to the book…
Intrigued by not only the BEAUTIFUL cover and the out of this world writing, every chapter only added to my fascination. I loved everything this book had to offer – and it has a lot to offer. The imagery and overall thought process that has gone into this is just outstanding. I’ve heard some really good praise for her first novel The Near Witch. I will admit I haven’t read it yet, but I definitely intend to. Victoria has such a unique writing style. (I know I know, every author is unique) Sometimes, you just come across that one author that you’ll forever read ANYTHING they publish. Victoria is now one of those authors for me.
Seriously, I don’t think I can say enough times how much I loved this book. It took me a long time to read it, due to unforeseen circumstances… but every time I opened the book I just didn’t want to put it down. The characters intertwine in such an incredible manner. I will admit, I totally got caught up in the not so obvious love triangle. Above all, I love Wes and Mackenzie. I love them together, and apart. Each one of their characters are so well rounded and so different from the norm. This book is seriously one of the best written mixed genre’s I’ve ever read. The Archived has a little romance, a lot of mystery, some spook, mixed with the least bit of angst and just the right amount of supernatural.
It’s very hard to write a review about The Archived without being spoilery. I don’t want to give away too much, but at the same time I want to tell you everything. With that said, this will be a short review, because I just can’t keep my mouth closed! This is definitely a book you DO NOT want to miss. I can’t wait to read Vicious, and I will be going crazy until January when I can finally read UNBOUND!!! [The Archived 2]

[Waiting On Wednesday] #10
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking The Spine,
That showcases books we're eagerly anticipating!
Kait's Pick: If you haven't started this series DO IT NOW! Yes, I am yelling at you. Karina Halle is a genius and I love her for creating Dex and Perry, two of my favorite characters EVER. I cannot wait! DEX!
Come Alive - Karina Halle
Expected Publication: June, 2013
#7 in the Experiment in Terror series
It’s one thing to bring the woman you love back into your life. It’s another to try and keep her there. For Dex Foray, convincing Perry Palomino to open herself to their burgeoning relationship has been more challenging than hunting ghosts, battling demons and stalking Sasquatch combined. Add in the fact that the only way they can keep their Experiment in Terror show running is to take on a third partner in the form of the mysterious Maximus Jacobs — all while investigating a sinister voodoo sect in New Orleans — and you’ve got the perfect Southern storm and a recipe for disaster. Luckily, Dex has never been one to back down, even when his life –and heart — are on the line.
Come Alive is told from Dex’s POV.
Beth's Pick: I have a sick obsession with people hunting other people, lol. This book just sounds crazy good!
Premeditated - Josin McQuein
Expected Publication: October 8th, 2013
A week ago, Dinah’s cousin Claire cut her wrists.
Five days ago, Dinah found Claire’s diary and discovered why.
Three days ago, Dinah stopped crying and came up with a plan.
Two days ago, she ditched her piercings and bleached the black dye from her hair.
Yesterday, knee socks and uniform plaid became a predator’s camouflage.
Today, she’ll find the boy who broke Claire.
By tomorrow, he’ll wish he were dead.

[Cover Reveal] Tottering Trilogy
[COVER REVEAL]
The Tottering Trilogy
by:
Katlyn Charlesworth
SYNOPSIS:
tot•ter•ing (ˈtɒt ər ɪŋ): to appear about to collapse; lacking stability
Tottering on the edge of insanity… these females aren't exactly your typical "Kate Middleton"s.
Royals gone a little mad.
Not every figure of royal blood has their crown on straight. From unusual hallucinations, to gruesome rituals, and vicious murder--these prominent women have a few issues of their own that even their royal status can't solve. Sometimes, the darkest secrets reside behind the doors of a palace.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
A note from Katlyn:
I'm sort of a walking contradiction...
I'm a spinner of tales, but forever a reader; an old soul, but young at heart; a total romantic, but a horror movie guru; a roller coaster fanatic, yet always lightheaded.
I think dogs are better than cats and I am convinced my fish has a crush on Audrey Hepburn. I dream in black-and-white, yet try to live with as much vibrancy and color possible, during the day. I think laughter is the best medicine and kissing is the best calorie burner. I think handwritten letters are better than typed ones. I think winter is way too cold, summer is way too hot, and fall is for football.
And I think life is a beautiful thing...
BIO:
Katlyn Charlesworth is an Ohio native, who is convinced she has a more southern frame of mind, and grew up writing short stories and participating as a weekly columnist, reporter, and editor in her high school’s newspaper publication.
She enjoys listening to country music and wishes her days occurred in the form of a real life musical. She is a total romantic, but could spend the entire day watching horror films. If she could, she would buy a million vintage typewriters to write her novels with, as long as there was a magical, and somewhat futuristic, ‘delete’ key added in (it’s mandatory).
Her first two novels, We All Fall Down and A Thousand Deaths, are historical fiction. She is currently working on a third novel of the same genre, while being in-and-out of hospitals, due to her two chronic illnesses (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome), and is still hoping for that real life musical number!
Katlyn currently resides with her parents, younger brother, and four dogs in Colorado.
She loves hearing from current and future readers, so feel free to email her at katlyncwrites@gmail.com and she will be sure to get back with you!
Also, check out her website: katlyncwrites.webs.com
Katlyn also has a “street team” called The Tale Spinners, to help promote her novels! By joining, you could be a character in her next book, get signed copies of both of her books, have your name in the acknowledgements of her next book, and so much more! Email her at katlyncwrites@gmail.com so you can start earning your prizes!
