The Collector - Victoria Scott
I went into this book with really high expectations of the
lead character Dante. After seeing people
saying “OMG, DANTE WALKER” and “I LOVE DANTE!”. So, I’m
sad to say… I wasn’t head over heels for Dante. Did I like him? Absolutely. Honestly I loved Charlie, the female lead this
time. [I don’t discriminate ;)] Victoria Scott also had amazing support
characters with Annabelle and Blue.
Even though I wasn’t in love with Dante, I did like his
snarky attitude and I thought his over exuberance of confidence was endearing. I
wasn’t fond of how mean he could be though. I mean I get it… but being someone
who’s been on the brunt side of a joke, I totally felt for Charlie and the
others he put down. However, the way Dante evolved throughout the novel simple
amazed me. It really brings light to the reassurance of how ONE person could
blindly procure such a change in someone.
Charlie was adorkable.
I totally related to her, since I haven’t been the prettiest, or the smartest and
I’ve been told so, just like her. With everything that happened to Charlie, she
was just an amazing soul. The complete
opposite of a Mr. Egotistical sassy pants Dante. Annabelle and Blue, Charlie’s best friends
were completely awesome sauce. Protective of their trio, they made the
storyline so much more interesting. Anabelle and Blue gave Dante a run for his
money when it came to being protective of Charlie.
I was absolutely in love with the witty banter in this book.
Per usual, While I’m reading… I tend to be animated. Hilarity ensues something fierce in The
Collector. Not only was Hilarious, but it also had drama, romance, and super feels (Yes, that means I shed a few
tears). Victoria definitely delivered a
well thought, well written story. Even
though this novel doesn’t particularly have any cliff-hangers, I definitely
anticipate the second novel. Victoria truly
leaves you with the “can’t waits”. I mean I’m super curious to find out what happens next.
GO GO GO! GET YOUR GRABBY HANDS ON!!!!!
Great Review! I totally agree with you, I loved Charlie and I really liked the evolution of Dante. I loved the way the author was able to mix humor and drama in this book and it was definitely a unique read for me.
ReplyDeleteI've seen some mixed things about this one so I can't decide if I want to read! I personally like it better when guys are sweet. Snarky is good sometimes but not all the time. Great review!
