[Top Ten Tues] #7

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.

This weeks Category
[Books When You Need Something Light & Fun]

Kait's Picks:
This is a really hard topic for me because I eat and breathe angst ridden, heartbreaking stories.

Uglies (Uglies, #1)  Sloppy Firsts (Jessica Darling, #1)  This Lullaby
That Boy (That Boy, #1)  Twilight (Twilight, #1)
Uglies by Scott Westerfeld:
This book[and the entire series] is one of my favorite[and first] dystopian novels. It makes you think, but still has tons of adventure.

Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty:
Maybe this series is quite angsty, but the first novel captures so much hilarity and snark from Jessica Darling. And, HELLO, Marcus Flutie!

This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen:
who didn't fall in love with Dexter, the unpredictable musician? This is my favorite Sarah Dessen love story. HATE SPINNERBAIT!

That Boy by Jillian Dodd:
Yes, this book was a little emotional, but it was mostly hilarious. I'm ashamed to say I haven't started That Wedding yet!

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer:
I know, people HATE this book. I loved it. I read it way more than I would like to admit. And although I haven't read it in a while I know I will again

Beth's Picks:

This is the second week in a row that I've had a little bit of trouble with the TTT. Like Kait, I also enjoy tearing my heart out, every time I read a book.

Claire de Lune (Claire de Lune, #1)  The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Sisterhood, #1)  Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1)
Incarceron (Incarceron, #1)  Everlost (Skinjacker, #1)

Claire de Lune - Christine Johnson
I really liked this book, it had just enough of everything while still being a breezy novel.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants - Ann Brashares
Ok, I know who hasn't read this or at least seen the movie? Yes, you know what I'm talking about! If you haven't read this, make this series one of your summer beach reads!

Shiver - Maggie Stiefvater
I thought the series was pretty much THE SHIT when it came out. Obviously, my book likings have changed as I've gotten older. Now - I would consider this a light read.

Incarceron - Catherine Fisher
I loved this book. It's not really a LIGHT read, but it is... There is a lot in this book, but it's beautifully written and flows ever so nicely!

Everlost - Neal Shusterman
This was a good series. It's pretty assuring that Neal won't let you down. Even though there are a few monsters, this was a pretty breezy book to read too.

What's on your TTT this week??

  1. I have to laugh because I also eat up the angst and "make me cry my heart out" stories. This one was difficult for me but fortunately both Shel and Bel (especially Shel) love light reads and they had plenty of recommendations to add to my 3 or 4. I've even read some of them! LOL.

Thanks for sharing and stopping by our blog!

  6. I simply adore the Traveling Pants books! My students aren't interested in them anymore though, which is such a shame because they're totally missing out! :)
