[Review & Giveaway] Out of Breath by Rebecca Donovan

Out of Breath (Breathing, #3)

Title: Out of Breath
Published: July 2nd, 2013
Author: Rebecca Donovan
Pages: 422

Mild spoilers for the first two books in the series, no spoilers for Out of Breath.

From Goodreads:Emma leaves Weslyn and everyone in it behind to attend Stanford University, just as she always intended. A shell of her former self, she is not the same girl. She is broken, and the only way that she’ll be whole again is through forgiveness. Emma must find a way to forgive herself and recognize her own worth before she can receive the love she deserves. This final installment will have readers holding their breath until the very last page.

My Thoughts:
I was afraid of this book. I was absolutely terrified of the ending. If you've read this series then you know how heartbreaking and emotional it is, and the final installment definitely kept with that theme. I can't review this book the way I would like because that would include far too many spoilers, so I'll be keeping this short.

Almost two years after the night Emma left and she's barely living.  I've always been a little bit frustrated with Emma in each book, for different reasons, but she still has something that keeps her likeable. I was frustrated with the stubbornness, she is so damn stubborn. She has serious issues with trusting herself and loving herself, which s understandable considering what she's gone through. I always wanted Emma to be happy, and seeing all the ways she wasn't happy broke my heart.

There were a ton of new characters that I fell in love with, especially Emma's friends. I wasn't the biggest fan of her friend Peyton[once you read it you will know why!], but everyone else was great. I was really happy that Sara played a part in the ending. I was worried she was going to be a little left out, but she was right there with Emma.

Evan Mathews... there isn't much I can say about Evan except that I love him. He's one of my favorite book boyfriends and he's one of those rare good guys. Evan doesn't have the crazy womanizing past or the anger management issues, and it's damn refreshing to love a good guy.

I won't say much else because most everything is a spoiler, but I will say that I was satisfied by the ending and I am happy with the way Rebecca brought everything together.

Now what you've been waiting for! THE GIVEAWAY!
I was so excited about Out of Breath it didn't even occur to me that it might not be available on Barnes & Noble, so on the day it came out I was screwed. I went and ordered the book and waited[impatiently] for it to arrive. When it did I was surprised to see not one, but TWO copies of the book. Apparently I was so flustered I ordered two copies instead of one. But, that's good news for you!
