REVIEW
“Let’s watch Magic Mike. It’s been almost a week since I’ve had Channing on my Tatum” – I laughed so hard at this I snorted, and now I’m going to be saying Channing on my Tatum, lol.
“Fuck No! Are you high? Nobody could ever get sick of looking at Channing’s fine ass hump that floor during his hip hop routine. And that Alex Pettyfer…sweet mother of god… I would drink his bathwater with a sparkly pink star.” – I can’t help but think about how Kait and I talk about people, when I read this. True predator status. K. Langston, you would fit right in with my group of friends!
“I can’t decide if I want to punch him in the face or kiss the ever lovin’ shit out of him” – Oh yeah, this is me all day every day!
“I want to walk through this life with you by my side. Your hand in mine. Forever.”
CAUTION: HOT! This book needs to come with a warning label! I have no idea what to say about this book, except that if you don’t read it… you’re a fool! I’ve been following K. Langston for quite some time before this novel came out. I fucking adore her beyond reason. I feel like no matter what I write, it’ll be a disappointment and there isn’t enough praise in this world that I could give to K. Langston. Because You’re Mine was extremely well thought out, the transitions from character to character were beyond beautiful and the imagery was just flawless. This novel gave me everything I could ask for in a story. Love, hardship, humor, angst, the right amount of sexy, personal demons, and shenanigans.
Just throwing it out there, I love the names of the characters, Madison and Holden. They’re names fit their personalities to a tee. The two characters are well developed, relatable, and entertaining. A man with personal demons and a woman with a clear cut plan for her life, Who would of thought that the combination would work? By the way… I love me a man with some personal demons. I swear it just makes him sexier. Having OCD and being a bit anal retentive I can relate to Madison, even though my life is a chaotic hot mess, while she’s planned meticulously.
Madison was pig headed, elegant, and sassy. She starts out living in Boston (BOSTON STRONG!! WOOT!) and is in school to be a lawyer, while working at a very swanky law firm. Then tragedy hits and she’s brought back to her home town where she meets Holden. Little does she know, he’s exactly what she’s been looking for. The support characters were simply brilliant. Holden’s cousin Archer was a take-no-shit type of guy and looked out for Holden as if he were his son. Madison’s best friend… well besides winning best friend of the year award, she’s just absolutely adorable. The two of them along with Madison’s parents and her boss just made the story extra spectacular.
Let me tell you, there is something to be said about a country boy. (I know you’re saying AMEN right now!) I lost my train of thought thinking about country boys… and Holden. *sigh*. This review might just be a train wreck of random rants. Anyways, back to Holden (purr). Being a jack of all trades, Holden works at Madison’s family farm, he’s a mechanic, and works at a bar. Can I just point out that his name alone screams SEX? Let alone those sparkling blue eyes and rock hard body. Mmmhm. Bitches – back off my book hubby!!!
The two of them have that instant connection that you could only pray for in real life. To those of you that have had that… I’m jealous. Don’t get me wrong, I love my man and all, but damn it – I would KILL for such intensity between myself and a stranger! The fact that Madison and Holden both know there is something between them but refuse to act on it just builds up the sexual tension between them. Not to mention the witty banter and the indescribable intimacy between the two. OH god! The scene in the barn, and then the lake, I can’t. You know that saying… ‘Work hard, Play Hard’? Hah. This book gives that phrase a whole new meaning. You have to read this. K. Langston has a way with writing to give you the ultimate feels.
When I first started reading this book, the scenes while Madison was in Boston were amazing. I was like Oh shit, This is what’s going down!? LAWD! I was only but a few chapters in and I was already panting over the descriptive happenings. I would have been happy with just that, but I’m so glad that there was just so much more. I tend to be attracted to books that are let’s just say ‘not for a faint heart’. My thoughts on this novel can’t be put into mere words. Just like Holden and Madison, I fell in love… and damn it I fell HARD.
Even through the tragedies and misconceptions, this book does have a great ending. As much as I loved this, I was sad for it to end. (As I am with all great books) K. Langston really hit this one out of the park for her DEBUT novel. Honestly, I would recommend this book to ANYONE… providing you’re of a mature enough age. ;) Congratulations to K. Langston on this fucking crazy amazing debut novel. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, which has to do with Madison’s best friend and Holden’s cousin Archer. Oooh, I can’t wait to read what comes out of Archer’s mouth. I fucking love you K. Langston, Don’t you forget it! I hope my review was worth the torture of not letting you read it until the blog tour, mwauhahaha! ;)

I love music. I have a broad range of taste so I listen to all genres, but I love country the most.
Most of my friends and family will tell you that I'm a bit loud. I take that back...I'm very LOUD. I tend to always say what others are thinking and I never sugarcoat anything.
Writing has given me the release I've been craving all of these years. An outlet to express myself the way I want to, the way I need to. It's like therapy for me and my life was forever changed the moment I typed that first line.
