[Blog Tour] Black Iris

BLACK IRIS

Black Iris

ABOUT BLACK IRIS:
It only took one moment of weakness for Laney Keating’s world to fall apart. One stupid gesture for a hopeless crush. Then the rumors began. Slut, they called her. Queer. Psycho. Mentally ill, messed up, so messed up even her own mother decided she wasn't worth sticking around for.

If Laney could erase that whole year, she would. College is her chance to start with a clean slate.

She's not looking for new friends, but they find her: charming, handsome Armin, the only guy patient enough to work through her thorny defenses—and fiery, filterless Blythe, the bad girl and partner in crime who has thorns of her own.

But Laney knows nothing good ever lasts. When a ghost from her past resurfaces—the bully who broke her down completely—she decides it's time to live up to her own legend. And Armin and Blythe are going to help.

Which was the plan all along.

Because the rumors are true. Every single one. And Laney is going to show them just how true.

She's going to show them all.

REVIEW:

Wow, what can one really say about Black Iris? Leah Raeder is an absolute genius. The way she twists her words around to become the insane story that ends up being written is just beyond my comprehension. I mean she brings a whole new level of amazing to the plate here. I have to say that this novel is definitely more on the dark side, and I absolutely loved it. Leah Raeder makes dark and dangerous into completely irresistible and sexy.

The twists and turns that inevitably set this up for one of the most brilliant and epic reads of your life. However, this may be too dark for some, I have to admit that I completely fell in love. Throughout the novel you'll uncover lies, angst, secrets, betrayal, lust, heartbreak, and anger. Honestly I didn't know what was going to happen next, and to who. Black Iris is completely enthralling in so many ways. The fact that Leah put a book out there with the subject of bullying is in itself beautiful. Yes, it's a dark novel, but the truth is so many people fall victim of bullying, harrassment, and just any type of mental abuse. Why? Because they're different. There are a lot of people who can relate to this story in some way or another.

Again while it may be dark, it's absolutely worth the read. The secrets, lies, and betrayals that you think are going to shock you are just the beginning. The heartache that I felt while reading this was so uncontrollably real. I really felt for the characters, and can understand why Laney does what she does. I think that finding out who you are is the most important thing in life, and for Leah Raeder to recognize that and actually turn it into a story for people to read is beyond amazing. I can't tell you more about this book because I feel that anything that I could say about it would be spoiler-ish. Just prepare yourself for a mind-fuckery of a lifetime, and make sure your heart can handle it. The feels are undoubtedly going to knock you on your ass.

If you can handle a darker romance story, this is definitely the novel for you. This is a must read for me, and I can guarantee that you'll recommend this story to so many of your friends. Even if you recommend this just to talk about with someone... it's totally worth the read.
